Born in rural Idaho and raised with six siblings in Southern Utah until his 10th year when the family moved to Boston with his widowed mother, John learned the value of hard work, teamwork, and perseverance very early in life. His first job was when he was 11 years old, after school he sold Newspapers on the streets of Boston. Throughout his high school years, he worked full time evenings in the factories. After high school, John enlisted in the Army and served honorably during the Vietnam war.
John was elected to the House of Representatives in 2011, and served on the 50th Legislature of the State of Arizona. His committee assignments were; Appropriations, Education and Employment and Regulatory Affairs. John earned high ranks as a strict fiscal conservative, he was rated A+ as an NRA Conservative., He was awarded high ratings from the Goldwater Institute, and the Liberty Alliance. John easily won the respect and friendship of the other legislative members
John's energetic style and leadership abilities led him to opening several small successful businesses before pursuing his passion and the founding of his present business, The WeatherShack. This retail store chain offers; evaporative coolers, fireplaces, firetables and firepits. It is located on Main Street in East Mesa with a second location in Heber, Az. "I have the best job In the world for a guy" he often says, "I get to play with nuts, bolts, screws and fire while spinning tall tales with customers all day at my stores."
John is also a Real Estate Broker in Arizona (His hobby for many,many years ). He is past President and current member of The Superstition Mountain Republican Club . He loves doing all this in addition to volunteering for a variety of charitable causes, sharing time with his wife, Cheryl (the Pastor of the AJ Cowboy Church, a christian based non-denominationl church in Apache Junction and family or friends.
